Production & Technical Manager
Various positions 1997 – 2002
Freelance work as Production or Technical Manager on a variety of projects. Responsibilities included pre-production technical aspects, costings, budgets, supervision of LX and sound rig, resource provision, supervision of fit-ups & and get-outs, technical liaison with venue and contractors, and health and safety. Projects included:
– Site-specific, including two major site-specific productions – of Macbeth and Hamlet – at the Mini Factory of BMWGroup Plant Oxford (Creation Theatre 2001, 2002) and transformation of a space at Bicester Garrison into a large site-specific educational project (OTTC 2011), including temporary installation of technical equipment & physical transformation of the space. – Regional tour of Tales of the Arabian Nights (OTTC 2000)
– National tour of community venues with Fag Hag (Women & Theatre 2001)
– Conference, Event and Training: Technical Supervisor, later Production & Event Manager of theatre-based learning company including client liaison and major project management. (AKT Prod. 1997-1999)
During my time as General Manager & Chief Executive at The Play House I continued to production manage several site-specific productions (see here for examples) and technical aspects of other performances, such as video and audio elements.
